how can i get my clothes back from 6th grade?

well this is the epitome of a classic example why you should not throw out any of your clothing ...even if it's from 10 years ago, keep it.  Every 10 years or so, everything makes a come back. I told my friend a few weeks ago that overalls were coming back. His response was something like this:
"hahaha oooooooook lauren"

When I ventured into Topshop with a few of my friends today this is what I found:

Needless to say, I texted him saying told you!

I know they're not flattering and this is pretty weird, but by summer you'll see people strutting around in these...so maybe start thinking how this can possibly work without making yourself look like that dude in the famous farmer painting by Grant Wood below:

this is happening

It's Spring...I'm over this dumb Chicago weather....it was warm(er) today so in my mind it's okay to wear teal pants

tomorrow maybe i'll wear my bright pink ones... or yellow... or orange....

(yes mom, i'm wearing a jacket too)

Just wanted to tell all of you that are eagerly waiting for the weather to change to just pretend it is what you want it to be and dress like that....maybe if we all start wearing really springy clothes, Chicago will somehow get the memo that this isn't Antarctica and warm the f up

**teal pants are from Zara last summer**
**Rock my world shirt is from Forever 21 like a week ago***
**shoes -Forever 21 couple months ago** (really comfortable actually)

dont play laser tag in this

If you think a glow in the dark trend is ridiculous ...it is... but it's coming

It's starting, like always, with the major designers such as Alexander Wang below:

but give it a little bit (Chicago longer than New York obviously), and you'll see more.... but for now.....

Designer: Alexander Wang

Designer: Bex Rox

(the white powder glows in the dark)

Designer: Tom Binns

(glow in the dark Swarovski crystals)

Yes, all of this stuff is extremely expensive. However, I'm sure what always happens with every trend will happen with this one as well --> every reasonable priced store will start to find their own way to sell the trend, and it will be in Forever 21's window within months. If you don't want to spend around $800 for something like this now, and you don't want to wait around for H&M, Forever 21, and everyone else to find ways to market this look, you can always stick to the glow sticks :)

...but Alexander Wang's finale during Paris Fashion Week was pretty epic....so this might be actually epic

If Mary Kate and Ashley do it....

If Mary Kate and Ashley like something then I like something considering I've been obsessed with them for years.  It's sad to admit, but when Holiday in the Sun came out in 7th grade, I definitely sat on my couch watching it on repeat all afternoon.

Anyways, I saw this picture here..

...and I wanted to know what these "2750s" are that the blog said the Olsen twins are wearing...

2750s are these cool Superga shoes that I'm assuming will be very popular shortly!

Shop them here...they range from $65-$80 and come in literally every color

What are you going to wear this Spring?

So that little guy didn't see his shadow... meaning that Spring is upon us!...not really, considering it's still 40 degrees..but it's a good excuse to get rid of everything in your closet that you hate in order to make room for brand new Spring clothes! (which is what I just did).

If I had to sum up in a phrase what you'll see this Spring in regards to "trends" this is it: loose fitted t-shirts or tank tops tucked in to high waisted skirts, jeans (the ripped ones will be back), shorts, whatever, with a belt and layered long necklaces.

Are you happy about that? I would hope so considering it's the most "effortless" (shout out marguerite) look you can possibly get-- which is amazing.  You can start wearing this now, just instead of pastels (which will also be in), just wear darker colors such as greys, dark blues, blacks, etc.

The loose fitted shirts that will be in are going to have some sort of print on them... whether it's Superman (cartoons will be around), animals, some random sketch of a design, bands, or shapes...something will be there.. Think about the Junk Food Tees that used to be popular years back... those are making a return.

Considering the outfit is going to be pretty simple, the jewelry is going to be the main attraction.  You will see everything from layered long necklaces to a mix of silver and gold to vintage jewelry.  People will be wearing tons of bracelets and rings on their fingers at once, and there's not going to be anything subtle about it.

Look at these pictures below that I found are good examples of what I am talking about:

Tees:

Tanks:

Okay, I think you get my drift here.  Just remember, TUCK IT IN (not fully, sometimes just in the front, sometimes all around with it loosely hanging over your belt--you'll have to make that judgment)!  It not only will make you look more fashionable, but it's really slimming.

Jewelry:

Chloe and Isabel Three Row Paillette Graduated Pendant  (I own this and wear it pretty much everyday!)

Remember: chunkiness is key.  If you think something could look ridiculous, you're probably doing it right.

Knuckle Rings: --> I did a post about this before, but wear as many of them at once as you can.

Vintage Jewelry: ask grandma or go on etsy/Brand Melville

Here are some:

If this isn't your favorite "trend," don't worry, there's a lot of others coming as well! Just wait until tomorrow, and I will tell you.... but now I have to get back to watching Hawaii Life on HGTV and wishing I lived there. I hope everyone had a good weekend!
